Opening of Tombstone to People's Artist of the USSR A.P. Kibalnikov in Novodevichy Cemetery

Tombstone to Alexander Pavlovich Kibalnikov, People's Artist of the USSR, Academician, Sculptor, was opened in Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow on November 14, 2010.

The author of the tombstone is a Moscow Sculptor, Vyacheslav Piliper.

Valentina Alexandrovna Kibalnikova, daughter of People's Sculptor of the Country Alexander Pavlovich Kibalnikov led the ceremony.

She thanked all the people who had started the procedure of perpetuation and celebration of the centenary of People’s Sculptor Alexander Pavlovich Kibalnikov and of course, the author of the tombstone Vyacheslav Piliper.

The opening of the monument was attended by representatives of Russian Academy of Arts, People’s Artist of the USSR, Academician, Vice President of Russian Academy of Arts Yefrem Ivanovich Zverkov.

Honoured Artist of Russia, President of International Academy of Culture and Arts, Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Arts Piotr Stronsky spoke about Alexander Pavlovich Kibalnikov who had rendered great services to the country, on need to proceed with activities aimed at perpetuation of the outstanding national sculptor, and namely, on installation of a commemorative plate to A.P. Kibalnikov on the high-rise House in Kotelniky.

Vyacheslav Piliper told the public how he had been working to create the monument, expressed his gratitude to all who had assisted in his work, and confidence in proper celebration of the centenary of People's Artist of the USSR Alexander Pavlovich Kibalnikov in 2012, for which installation of the tombstone could be regarded as the first step.

Friends and relatives of the Great National Artist Alexander Pavlovich Kibalnikovwho had known the Sculptor told about his life and creative work.

Corresponding Member of International Academy of Culture and Art Margarita Siourina addressed the men of light and leading with an appeal to push decisions on further perpetuating Alexander Pavlovich Kibalnikov’s memoryand celebrating his centenary in 2012. Margarita Siourina was absolutely sure to find the followers among those who gathered at the ceremony.
